County Limerick Youth Theatre participated in Youth Theatre Ireland’s “Youth Theatre Island” as part of Cruinniú na nÓg 2025. Youth Theatre Island brought together youth theatres from all over the island to showcase their work. Pieces included were devised or written by young people.

We performed a 10 minute snippet of Beetroot by Lucy Montague Moffatt in Siamsa Tíre in Tralee alongside Dreamstuff Youth Theatre (Kilkenny), Castletownbere Youth Theatre (West Cork) and Glengarriff Youth Theatre (West Cork).

Youth Theatre Island is a partnership initiative between Youth Theatre Ireland, Theatre and Dance NI, and venues across the island to celebrate youth theatre and young people as artists.

This year, 17 youth theatres from across the island showcased plays written by, for and with young people and premiering new plays devised by youth theatres.
