The County Limerick Youth Theatre, known as the Co.LYT, is an ensemble set up in 1996 under the auspices of Limerick County Council Arts Office for young people who are interested in drama and the theatre.

Weekly workshops take place in the HoneyFitz Theatre on Tuesdays during term time:

5pm - 6.15pm for Third Class to 6th Class

6.30pm - 8.30pm for Secondary School students.

The Leading Lyts are young adult members who organise their own meeting times and events.

Parents will be informed in advance should any extra workshops/rehearsals be scheduled.

We run an outreach department working with Limerick school and community groups, participate in national events through NAYD and international European theatre and drama training, youth exchanges and youth initiatives through the Erasmus+ programme.

How to Apply

Youth Theatre has an open recruitment policy. We welcome young people from all backgrounds and abilities. The Code of Conduct is the backbone of the organisation. All young people must be treated with equal respect by all members and facilitators. To become a member of the Co. LYT, you must fill out an application, sign the code of conduct and pay our term subscription. There is no audition process and no previous experience is required as enthusiasm and commitment will take you very far.
